AED Cluster Portugal hosting aeronautics, space, and defense experts

Global leaders in the aeronautics, space, and defense industries will convene in Oeiras, Portugal from May 7 to 9 for AED Days, a major conference where top Portuguese and international experts, business leaders, policymakers, and others will learn from each other’s experience and collaborate on new ventures in Portugal in the future.

Sponsored by the AED Cluster Portugal, or the Portuguese Cluster for the Aeronautics, Space, and Defense Industries, the eleventh annual AED Days will feature officers from the highest echelons of the Portuguese military, space agency administrators, former diplomats, entrepreneurs, and others.

“This event is an excellent opportunity to meet with the main national and international players in these industries and seek collaborations and commercial partnerships,” writes the AED Cluster Portugal on its website.

AED Cluster Portugal aims to improve funding and regulations for aeronautics and space explorations in Portugal, develop the country’s people and competencies, foster innovation that creates value in Portugal and the region, especially regarding sustainable aviation, and expand local markets and opportunities for new business and initiatives. More than 135 entities belong to the organization.

Topics at AED Days panels will include “Geopolitics and geoeconomics in 2024: from Ukraine to Israel and Iran; from inflation and rates to trade; risks and opportunities,” “Solving aerospace and defense supply chain challenges,” and “Looking at aerospace and defense markets’ new pathways.” 

At last year’s conference, more than 620 participants from 21 countries attended. Attendees represented 289 companies. More than 120 meetings between attendees were held, creating deep connections throughout the sector. ce/jd
