Einladung zum Roundtable von Schellenberg Wittmer AG / Rechtsanwälte

At SW we are hosting a roundtable with export control specialist Kevin Wolf from Akin on Monday, 26 February 2024, at 5.30 pm at our offices at Löwenstrasse 19 in Zurich. The roundtable is expected to last approx. one hour and will be followed by an apéro riche.

Export controls applying to Swiss companies will be presented in all their complexity. During his presentation, Kevin will describe the significant expansion of US export controls over non-US-origin commodities, software, and technology, and how the controls affect non-US companies. Kevin will in particular address the US government's policies, as well as developments in emerging technology sectors in 2024. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about export controls and the development of US trade policies, and how such policies may affect Swiss businesses.

We anticipate that this roundtable will be of interest to a broad range of companies, including those active in semiconductors, artificial intelligence and computing applications, production equipment, biotechnology and chemicals, and transportation-related items.

Kevin Wolf is a partner in Akin's leading international trade group and a resident of their Washington DC office (https://www.akingump.com/en/lawyers-advisors/kevin-j-wolf). He was Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration during both terms of the Obama administration. Kevin has been practicing in export controls for more than 30 years, is frequently asked to testify before the US Congress on the topic, and is also a Senior Fellow at Georgetown University’s Center for Security and Emerging Technology.

This is a unique opportunity to get a first-hand insight into this complex and highly relevant topic given the current geopolitical shifts. In case of interest, please register at by next 23 February 2024 at the latest.
