Switzerland represented at Airport Show Dubai
Five Swiss exhibitors are currently taking part in the Airport Show Dubai. Following the success of the digital trade fair appearances by the SWISS Pavilion, this is one of the first such events held in person since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. The doors to the trade fair for airport solutions will close on Wednesday.
Around half a dozen Swiss firms are represented at the Airport Show Dubai, which started on Monday. They are all part of the first physical SWISS Pavilion since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. It is being organized by the trade fair logistics specialists T-Link in conjunction with Swissmem – Swiss Airport Suppliers, the Swiss Business Council and the Swiss business location initiative Switzerland Global Enterprise.
The three-day exhibition for advanced airport solutions is among the first trade fairs to be held in person this year. In compliance with strict COVID prevention measures, Dubai is gradually ramping up trade fair operations again. “We are delighted that we can again take part with a Swiss stand at this airport show”, comments Carl A. Ziegler, CEO of T-Link, in a press release. “Digital trade fair appearances have presented us with exciting new marketing opportunities. But they do not replace physical contact and face-to-face exchanges with people”.
According to Alper Söken, Managing Director & Area Sales Director at Bartholet Maschinenbau AG from Flums in the canton of St.Gallen, the market for lowering systems and ropeways has developed positively in the Middle East. “Our partners want to see us and discuss things in person. We are delighted to be here and have the opportunity to present our latest developments live again”.
The start-up Airlife Swiss, which has developed filter systems for air purification and disinfection of critical environments, is also among the companies forming part of the SWISS Pavilion. Assaia ApronAI is likewise represented. The company uses Computer Vision processes for the generation of insights from video streams and to optimize airport apron operations in real time by leveraging unused operating data. The elevator and escalator manufacturer Schindler also forms part of the Swiss Pavilion alongside XOVIS with its solutions that seek to “rethink people flow”.
The swisstrade.com ticker has been integrated in the reception area of the SWISS Pavilion. This English-language news platform was launched by the news agency Café Europe and the association swiss-export.com with the aim of making Swiss companies visible at a global level for the first time. T-Link is also among the founder organizations of swisstrade.com.
