Flux Mobility electrifies first MAN TGE commercial vehicles

(CONNECT) MAN Truck & Bus is presenting two MAN TGE vehicles that have been electrified by Winterthur-based Flux Mobility AG at the IAA Transportation for the first time. The largest international trade fair for the commercial vehicle industry is taking place in Hanover from 15 to 20 September. “Our goal is to offer customers practical solutions with high operational reliability,” said Daniel Holbein, Senior Vice President and Head of the Van Business Unit at MAN, in a statement issued by FluxMobility AG. “Together with our development partner Flux, we will gain important insights in Hanover through direct dialogue with customers.”

Whether as panel vans, single-cab, or double-cab models, these near-production innovative vehicles are designed for applications that have so far rarely been served by electric vehicles. Available with different wheelbases and in various weight classes, they are suited to specialized applications such as ambulances, fire trucks, or municipal vehicles. Flux highlights two unique selling points: electric all-wheel drive, which is unique in this segment, and a battery with the highest capacity available in the shortest wheelbase.

According to the statement, the 119-kilowatt-hour NMC battery provides a range of up to 480 kilometers. The maximum payload is 2,500 kilograms, while the maximum towing capacity is 3,500 kilograms. The vehicle also features electric and electromechanical auxiliary drives that allow cranes, pumps, and presses, as well as container cleaning equipment, to be operated directly from the vehicle.

“Everything we’ve learned since 2021 has gone into this vehicle,” explains Duga Hoti, Executive Chairman at Flux Mobility. “It proves that electrification works even in the specialized commercial vehicle segment without compromising on range, traction, or payload.
