Helbling and Arabesque LLC showcase concierge robot in Lab Hotel

The Zurich-based companies Helbling Technik and Arabesque LLC are inviting people to find out more about the use of the temi service robot in the hotel industry at an open day at the Lab Hotel in Thun in the canton of Bern, according to a statement from Helbling. 

The two companies have prepared the concierge robot to accomplish its tasks in guest services. Since 16 April, temi has been greeting, informing and accompanying guests throughout the hotel. The hotel provides training for future hoteliers and describes itself as a hub of experimentation and innovation in the hotel industry.

Helbling Technik is a division of the engineering and consulting firm Helbling. Among others, Helbling Technik develops innovative, customized software solutions and integrates them into existing digital ecosystems. Arabesque specializes in human-centric robotics and is active in the strategic consulting and implementation of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI).

The companies’ robot gives AI a body. The technology behind the AI-based concierge enables machines to communicate naturally with humans, allowing for a certain amount of interaction. The Open Day will take place on 14 May from 2 to 5 pm at the Lab Hotel in Thun. Visitors can observe the robot in action and discuss the future of guest services with experts. ce/mm
