Japanese firm JFE Engineering invests in EnergieLink

Dietikon/Tokyo - JFE Engineering Corporation from Japan is acquiring a 45 percent stake in EnergieLink Holding AG. The group, which operates on an international basis from its headquarters in Dietikon, specializes in industrial plants. Through this partnership, JFE intends to strengthen its business in the area of Energy-from-Waste plants.

(CONNECTJFE Engineering Corporation, which has headquarters in both Tokyo and Yokohama, is investing in the internationally active EnergieLink Holding AG from Dietikon in the Swiss canton of Zurich. The company, owned by JFE Holdings, has acquired 45 percent of the group specializing in the maintenance, servicing, modernization and modification of industrial plants, as EnergieLink has announced in a statement. The new partnership aims to bolster the business in Energy-from-Waste (EfW) plants.

JFE Engineering has already gained experience in the planning, construction, operation and maintenance of EfW plants in Japan and other international markets. In partnership with EnergieLink, the company is now seeking to further expand its service offering. “This partnership unites two companies whose strengths complement each other”, as EnergieLink Managing Director Laurent Ludwig explains in the statement, adding that: “Together, we can provide our customers with even more comprehensive support throughout the entire lifecycle of their plants, sustainably strengthening our position in the European market in the process”.

No changes will be made to the organization or leadership structure of EnergieLink following the investment of JFE Engineering. Laurent Ludwig will continue to serve as Managing Director, Chairman of the Executive Board and majority shareholder. No information relating to the purchase price has been publicly released, with the two companies having also agreed not to disclose any other contractual details pertaining to the transaction. ce/hs
