Systane partners with Toronto Blue Jays
Fribourg/Toronto - Systane has been named the official eye drop partner of the Canadian baseball team Toronto Blue Jays. The partnership aims to help Canadians recognize signs of dry eyes so fans can stay comfortable throughout the season.
(CONNECT) Systane, a brand belonging to the Fribourg-based company Alcon, has entered into a partnership with the Toronto Blue Jays, announced a statement. As the team’s official eye drop partner, Systane will work to raise awareness about the chronic condition of dry eye through in-stadium promotions, digital experiences, and national awareness campaigns. The goal is to help Canadians recognize the symptoms of dry eye early so they can enjoy the Toronto Blue Jays’ 50th season without any discomfort.
“As we celebrate this milestone season, we’re excited to welcome Systane as an official partner of the Toronto Blue Jays,” said Mark Ditmars, Vice President of Corporate Partnerships at Toronto Blue Jays. “Together, we will raise awareness of dry eye to help ensure fans can watch our games comfortably whether they’re cheering from the ballpark or from home.”
Dry eye, also known as Sicca syndrome, is a chronic condition characterized by insufficient lubrication of the eye’s surface. It can lead to symptoms such as stinging, burning, fatigue, irritation, and watery eyes. Long games, bright stadium lighting, and extended screen viewing during the season can place additional strain on the eyes. According to the statement, Systane eye drops provide effective symptom relief and contribute to “supporting visual comfort during everyday activities, including watching live sports”.
For Vanessa Johari Hansen, Vision Care Franchise Head at Alcon Canada, a season like this “is about soaking in every moment, especially as the Blue Jays mark 50 seasons of baseball. Through this partnership, we’re helping Canadians recognize the signs of dry eye early so they can stay comfortable for the moments that make the season unforgettable.” ce/nta
