(CONNECT) In November, the first Airbus A350 operated by Swiss International Air Lines (Swiss) completed a maiden long-haul flight. The aircraft, which is equipped with the new SWISS Senses cabin, is the first of ten A350 airplanes in total that Swiss intends to put into operation by 2031. As Swiss has announced, the flight from Zurich to Boston marked the “official launch of the full SWISS Senses experience in regular operations”. Jens Fehlinger and Heike Birlenbach, CEO and CCO of Swiss respectively, were on board for the flight, alongside journalists and influencers.
The first Airbus A350 took off on its maiden test flight earlier this year in August. The long-haul aircraft was manufactured by Airbus and is equipped with the new SWISS Senses cabin. According to a statement issued by Swiss, the aircraft is noticeably quieter, consumes around 25 percent less fuel, and produces approximately 25 percent fewer CO2 emissions than previous long-haul aircraft. ce/nta
