duagon and Cylus join forces in the area of rolling stock cybersecurity

Dietikon/Tel Aviv - duagon from Dietikon and Cylus from Israel have agreed a partnership. Together, the two parties intend to develop an integrated technological solution that integrates cybersecurity directly into the network architecture of rolling stock.

(CONNECT) The technology firm duagon from Dietikon in the canton of Zurich has agreed a cooperation with Cylus in Tel Aviv, Israel for the development of a fleet-wide cybersecurity solution for rolling stock. According to a press release, this partnership combines the security gateway from duagon with the rail-specific cybersecurity platform developed by Cylus, with the aim of offered integrated protection, transparency and control via the onboard systems.

“As cybersecurity threats continue to grow in complexity and frequency, rail operators need a solution that is not only secure-by-design but tailored to the operational realities of modern rolling stock”, explains Miki Shifman, CTO of Cylus, in the press release.

The D527 gateway from duagon reportedly offers a cyber-secure, highly available network interface equipped with multiple Ethernet ports and optimized for use in rolling stock environments, as the press release states. According to the information, the integrated firewall offers a configurable packet filter that can be blocked for series production to ensure robust, long-term protection. Moreover, the gateway is said to feature continuous network monitoring, real-time threat detection and automated asset inventory via CylusOne, enabling rail operators to actively manage cybersecurity risks across their entire fleet.

“With the D527, we at duagon show our commitment to making railway more secure and to address the challenges our customers face in deploying solutions at scale across a large number of platforms”, comments Alexander von Allmen, Head of Business Line Embedded Products at duagon. ce/gba
