swiss export unanimously elects Anita Stebler as new president
Zurich - Anita Stebler has been elected as the new president of swiss export. Stebler is the co-owner and member of the Board of Directors of the glass and metal construction firm s:stebler, with subsidiaries in Germany and Portugal. Andreas Stöckli, CEO of the logistics specialist Rhenus Alpina, has been appointed to the role of vice-president.
(CONNECT) The members of swiss export have unanimously elected Anita Stebler as the new president of the organization at its Annual General Meeting.
Stebler, who hails from Bern, has served as a board member of the industry association since 2018. She is also the co-owner and member of the Board of Directors of the glass and metal construction firm s:stebler, which is based in Oensingen in the canton of Solothurn, and has played an active role in the export industry for over 30 years. “I work for our family business in Portugal, Germany, and the USA, among other places. As such, I am actively committed to making Switzerland a prosperous export nation”, as she explains in in a swiss export press release.
Andreas Stöckli has been named as the organization’s new vice-president. He is CEO of the logistics service provider Rhenus Alpina and has served as a member of the board of swiss export since 2016. As he underlines, swiss export should “continue to play an active part in improving the competitive standing and framework conditions of the Swiss export economy”.
Stebler and Stöckli follow in the footsteps of Carl Ziegler, who has opted to step down after nine years heading up the association. During this period, Ziegler has overseen growth in the membership, which actually increased by 9.6 percent in the past year alone. “I fondly recall the time when we filmed an interview with the Federal Councilor Parmelin on the escalator from the train station to the Federal Palace in Bern, and when we recorded swiss export day at Bystronic AG during the coronavirus pandemic”, Ziegler states, before adding: “We also celebrated our 50th anniversary, among many other successes, and managed to emerge stronger from a series of crises”. ce/mm
