Indrivetec receives certifications for the European energy storage market

Zurich - Indrivetec has obtained European certification for its FlexConvert-PCS-1500 battery inverter. The validation also covers the FC-BESS-Triple systems developed by the manufacturer of linear motor drives and battery-based energy storage systems.

Indrivetec AG has announced that its FlexConvert-PCS-1500 battery inverter has been certified for the European energy storage market. As the power electronic heartbeat of a battery-based energy storage system, this battery inverter is designed for a maximum DC voltage of 1,500 volts direct current (VDC) and a maximum apparent power of 4,980 kilovolt-amperes (kVA).

“This essential milestone allows the FlexConvert-BESS-Triple and FlexConvert-BESS-Triple-CON product lines to be applied for large utility scale projects”, comments Lars Pinnecke, Business Development Director. These two electric battery storage systems are well suited to grid stabilization and energy trading applications, as well as to energy and power buffering at rapid charging stations for electric vehicles. Other areas of application include optimizing self-consumption of renewable energies and island operation without grid connection.

According to Indrivetec, the advantages of the PCS system include multi-stage topology for maximum efficiencies of up to 99 percent as well as low harmonics. It is also compatible with high-voltage battery systems. Moreover, there is a bidirectional power conversion system with full four-quadrant operation, while users are able to manage battery charging and discharging as well.

Indrivetec will be present at the World Future Energy Summit from January 14-16, 2025. The company is one of eight exhibitors participating in the Swiss Pavilion for this event, which is being held as part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. ce/mm
