New committee aims to promote Liechtenstein’s agriculture
Vaduz - Liechtenstein’s government has adopted a regulation on the promotion of processing and sales of domestic agricultural products. A new committee aims in particular to strengthen the links between production, processing, refinement, and marketing.
The Government of the Principality of Liechtenstein adopted a new regulation on the promotion of processing and sales of Liechtenstein’s agricultural products (LVAV) at its session on September 10. According to a corresponding press release, it aims to “promote the value chains of domestic agricultural products and the circular economy in agriculture.” Additionally, the LVAV is anticipated to increase consumption of domestic agricultural products and support the industry with the development of innovative agricultural products.
To achieve this, the regulation envisages the creation of a new committee in place of the current Foundation Agrarmarketing Liechtenstein. It will include one member each from the Office of Environment, the Office of Economic Affairs, the Vereinigung Bäuerlicher Organisationen (Association of Farmers’ Organizations), Liechtenstein Marketing, the Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce, and a local council. The new committee will above all dedicate itself to creating sustainable value chains by strengthening the links between primary production, processing, refinement, and marketing. ce/hs
