Londero builds fully electric ambulance

(CONNECT) Londero GmbH is working on a fully electric ambulance with a range of 600 kilometers. According to the Volketswil-based company in the Swiss canton of Zurich, which specializes in the construction and optimization of emergency vehicles, the software is currently being finalized. The interior fit-out of the patient compartment is expected to follow in the first quarter of 2027, with deliveries to customers scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2027.

Londero develops its customer-focused vehicle concepts around the company’s vision for the future that, according to CEO Raphael Londero, rests on three pillars: electrification, high-tech, and Swissness. “We have our own electric vehicle designed specifically for emergency medical services, one that delivers performance and power unlike anything else in the world,” he is quoted as saying in a promotional video. By incorporating the realities of day-to-day emergency medical service operations into the electric vehicle concept, the company aims to create “a market-ready concept that ensures 24-hour operation.”

Londero centers on the manufacture and optimization of specialty vehicles, including ambulances, fire trucks, and police vehicles. The company describes itself as a pioneer in sustainable mobility, focusing on electric mobility, industrial manufacturing, and custom modifications.

Londero is among the exhibitors at the Swiss Pavilion at the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD) in Dubai. The trade show is taking place from 24 to 26 August. ce/mm
