SWISSto12 gains 70 million US dollars in fresh capital
Renens - SWISSto12 SA has concluded a funding round of 70 million US dollars. The aerospace company develops compact satellites and communications payloads for various earth orbits and plans to use the capital to expand its production capacities.
(CONNECT) SWISSto12, a manufacturer of satellites and communications payloads based in Renens in the Swiss canton of Vaud, has gained 70 million US dollars in a series C funding round. The funds are expected to be used for the expansion of manufacturing and integration capacities in order to serve the increasing demand from commercial and state-owned clients. CEO and Founder Emile de Rijk commented in a statement: “Space is increasingly recognized as essential infrastructure for the global economy.”
SWISSto12 develops satellites as well as payload and antenna solutions for various earth orbits. Notably, its products include the geostationary small satellite platform HummingSat. The company has received seven orders for this from international satellite operators to date, with SES and Viasat among them. In addition, more than 2,000 HummingLink antenna and payload solutions are being used in active space missions.
The funding round follows a phase of strong growth. SWISSto12 achieved sales of 140 million US dollars in 2025. The volume of contractually guaranteed orders currently rests at more than 500 million US dollars. According to information provided by the company, it has recorded an average annual growth of 110 percent since 2022 and anticipates a positive EBITDA for 2026. Fredrik Gustavsson, Chief Financial and Strategy Officer, stated: “This Series C accelerates us further.”
SWISSto12 was formed in 2011 as a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). It uses patented high-frequency technologies from 3D printing to create communications payloads. ce/as
