(CONNECT) Christoph Bühler took up his activities as the Head of Swiss Business Hub Middle East and Consul General of Switzerland in Dubai at the start of July. Bühler succeeds Consul General Angelica Schempp, who led the hub for the past three years and will be active in Washington in future, according to a statement.

The new head is already familiar with the Gulf region from previous professional positions. In a LinkedIn post, he highlighted its economic dynamism, entrepreneurial spirit, and ambition. Bühler additionally hopes to contribute to promoting Swiss interests, supporting Swiss citizens, and creating new opportunities for Swiss companies in the region.

Bühler writes: “My approach will be simple: listen, understand and engage.” He adds that good diplomacy begins with listening, but it also requires understanding different perspectives, anticipating change and building partnerships that create lasting value.

Swiss Business Hub Middle East helps Swiss companies with identifying business opportunities, entering the market, and expanding their activities in the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Together with partners in the region and in Switzerland, the organization aims to further strengthen economic ties. ce/as
