Swiss Business Council UAE celebrates 30th birthday
Dubai - The Swiss Business Council UAE (SBC) is celebrating a milestone. For three decades now, the SBD has served as a platform for the promotion of business ties between the UAE and Switzerland. At the 30th Annual General Meeting, the organization elected new board members as well as a new Chairman.
(CONNECT) The Swiss Business Council UAE has celebrated its 30th birthday. The SBC promotes the interests and activities of companies and individuals with ties between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Switzerland. At the 30th Annual General Meeting, a new board of directors was elected, with Peter Harradine, Managing Director of Orient Irrigation Services LLC, newly appointed to the role of Chairman, as detailed in a statement.
“For thirty years, the Swiss Business Council UAE has served as a key platform for advancing business relations and building lasting partnerships between the UAE and Switzerland”, comments Jasim Alabdouli, Consul General of the UAE in Geneva, in a separate statement. He adds: “I warmly congratulate the Council on this important milestone and wish it continued success in strengthening the longstanding economic ties between our two countries”.
As the Swiss Business Hub Middle East writes, the new board of directors was elected in the presence of Arthur Mattli, Ambassador of Switzerland to the UAE and Bahrain, and Angelica Schempp, Consul General in Dubai and Head of the Swiss Business Hub Middle East. While Peter Harradine now replaces Michael Lane as Chairman of the SBC, Mohammed Alsuwaidi was voted as the new Vice Chairman. In addition, Matteo Boffa and Ali Kanani were elected as new Secretary and Treasurer of the organization respectively. ce/nta
