EPFL Innovation Park extends startup support
Ecublens - The Innovation Park at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), in the Swiss canton of Vaud, is expanding its capacity from 2026. The aim is to cover the entire innovation cycle and additional areas of expertise, including cleantech, techbio, photonics, and space technology.
(CONNECT) The Foundation EPFL Innovation Park is intensifying its support for startup companies from 2026. Beginning in the new year, it will strengthen its capacities, offering expanded teams and resources to provide comprehensive support throughout the entire innovation cycle – from idea generation and incubation to acceleration and scaling. Those responsible say they aim to offer an even more targeted approach to the way they meet startups’ needs across their different phases.
According to the marketing department, the improved offering will place a particular focus on critical success factors, including market access, financing, talent acquisition, industry-specific expertise, and scaling of operational processes. Startups and innovators will reportedly also benefit from broader coverage of key areas of expertise such as medtech, techbio, cleantech, digital trust, artificial intelligence, aerospace, robotics, photonics, and sensor technology.
This support is available within the EPFL Innovation Park, where 2,837 entrepreneurs, engineers, technicians, and other employees of technology-oriented companies are currently working on their business ideas. The Innovation Park expects this number to increase significantly in the coming years as the site expands. According to the Innovation Park, it offers dynamic and established companies proximity to over 500 EPFL laboratories and research centers, as well as an extensive partner network. The goal, it writes, is to promote strong, cross-organizational collaboration between companies, startups, and universities.
The EPFL Innovation Park is one of 12 Swiss exhibitors in the SWISS Pavilion at GITEX Global 2025. The world's largest trade fair for technology, startups, and AI is taking place in Dubai from 13 to 17 October. ce/mm
