BloqSens facilitates the integration of Digital Product Passports in SAP

(CONNECT) BloqSens, the specialists for Digital Product Passports (DPP) based in the canton of Bern, Switzerland, will in future be cooperating with Straccoon, a SAP consulting firm from the German city of Kassel. This partnership addresses the growing necessity for companies to comply with DPP regulations such as the EU Battery Regulation and the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), as BloqSens writes in a press release.

“Partnering with Straccoon allows us to offer a complete DPP solution for SAP environments”, as Peter Krummenacher, CEO of BloqSens AG, explains in the press release. “Their SAP expertise complements our DPP technology, enabling efficient integration and minimizing disruption for our clients”.

According to the information, Straccoon brings comprehensive experience in SAP implementation and customization. “We see the Digital Product Passport as an opportunity to create real value through transparent, intelligent integration”, comments Christoph Knak, CEO of Straccoon. “By embedding DPP data directly into core ERP processes, we ensure it adds value where it matters most – by turning compliance into future-ready progress.”

The implementation of an EU regulation, which has been started in 2024, will gradually introduce such DPPs for all products sold in the EU. DPPs are intended to provide comprehensive information in an effort to help consumers, manufacturers, repair services and recycling companies to make informed decisions.

Batteries will become the first product group for which a DPP will be mandatory in 2027, after which more than 30 other product groups will be subject to a DPP in the years to follow. The priority product groups include textiles, furniture, toys and electronics. ce/mm
