Enespa and PlastEco collaborate for circular economy
Appenzell/Lahti - Enespa Group from Appenzell and the Finnish startup PlastEco have agreed on a long-term collaboration. The aim of the joint project is to introduce recycled materials from the areas of plastics, oil, and used tires back into the circular economy.
(CONNECT) Enespa Group based in Appenzell, Switzerland, plans to integrate its expertise into the work of the Finnish startup PlastEco. According to a press release, Enespa Technologies AG has acquired 40 percent of the capital shares in the Finnish company to this end. At the same time, COO Joachim Vogt and CTO Ben Richters from Enespa Group will take seats on the board of PlastEco.
The close collaboration between the two companies aims to introduce modern recycling solutions in the fields of plastic and oil processing and pyrolysis of used tires into PlastEco’s portfolio. In the first phase, Enespa will deliver a chemical recycling plant with a capacity of 5 metric tons per day in February 2025. Annual deliveries of further plants and an expansion of capacities are planned for the future.
Kari Larjava, CEO of PlastEco, commented in the press release: “In Enespa Group we believe we have found the perfect partner to bring our vision of a sustainable circular economy to life. Delivery of the first plant represents the start of an extensive collaboration.”
Ben Richters added: “This partnership is a major step for both companies. PlastEco brings local expertise and an established infrastructure and network, while we provide the technology and the know-how. Together, we can take the chemical recycling of plastic waste to a new level.” ce/ww
