Holcim intends to list US spin-off in New York and on the SIX
Zug/Zurich/New York - The construction materials manufacturer Holcim intends to fully separate its operations in the USA. The spin-off is to be listed both on the New York Stock Exchange and the SIX Swiss Exchange. The Annual General Meeting will vote on the proposal in May 2025.
The Zug-based construction materials manufacturer Holcim is set to fully spin off its US business and list Holcim United States on the New York Stock Exchange, as the company writes in a press release. While its US headquarters are located in Chicago, Holcim is also represented at 350 sites in 43 US states, employing 7,000 people in the USA, according to the company.
Holcim is progressing with the planned full spin-off of its North American business, the press release states. The North American business is to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange as a “domestic issuer” under the rules of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), while it will also report in accordance with US rules and aim for inclusion in relevant US equity indices. An additional listing on the SIX Swiss stock exchange is planned with the aim of accommodating the needs of European investors.
The planned spin-off remains subject to the approval of shareholders at Holcim’s Annual General Meeting on May 14, 2025. Should the company get the go-ahead from its shareholders, it is expected that the spin-off process would be completed by the end of the first half of 2025, Holcim explains.
