Schweiter fully acquires JMB Wind Engineering

Steinhausen/Gollnow - Schweiter Technologies is fully acquiring the Polish company JMB Wind Engineering. With this, the Zug-based composite material manufacturer is adding to its existing minority interest. JMB specializes in balsa and PET products for wind farms.

Schweiter Technologies is increasing its previous minority share of 40 percent in JMB Wind Engineering. The composite material manufacturer from Steinhausen in the canton of Zug is now acquiring the remaining 60-percent share in the Polish company with headquarters in Goleniów.

According to a press release, JMB specializes in balsa and PET products for wind farms. It currently employees approximately 430 members of staff and concluded the financial year 2022 with sales of around 70 million euros.

With the acquisition, Schweiter plans to strengthen its business area 3A Composites. 3A Composites aims to develop its global market position in balsa and PET core material solutions for the manufacture of wind rotor blades. At the start of 2023, 3A Composites put a PET production line into operation at JMB in Poland. ce/ssp
